Why photography?

Photography is a practical course that allows for hands-on experience in learning the necessary techniques for taking good pictures. Students will be able to use current cameras and software to take pictures and edit. The course has 3 modules that focus on learning the fundamentals:

  • Visual Composition (COM1005)
  • Photography Introduction (COM1205)
  • Exposure (COM1215)

What you learn...

  • how to understand composition which helps in making a picture look like more than just a snap shot
  • practical hands-on techniques with DSLR cameras including using different lenses to capture a variety of subjects both inside and outside the school
  • learning the ins and outs of using manual mode on a camera - elevating your ability to take images in any environment of any subject
  • editing techniques that help enhance images using a variety of editing software
